Instruction to Author

Thank you for choosing to submit your paper to us. To ensure a smooth process through peer review, production, and publication, please carefully read and follow these instructions. Doing so will help your paper meet the journal's requirements.

The Journal of Medical Health Research and Psychiatry offers rapid biannual publication of articles in areas such as clinical trials, public health, telemedicine innovations, precision medicine, mental health, psychotherapy, behavioral and personality disorders, neurology, bipolar disorder, child and adolescent psychiatry, cognitive disorders, psychopharmacology, epidemiology, addiction treatment, neuropsychology, behavioral medicine, cancer distress, depression in cancer patients, psycho-oncology, and other related fields. We welcome the submission of manuscripts that meet our criteria of significance and scientific excellence. Papers are published approximately one week after final acceptance.

Article Submission Guidelines


General Submission Requirements

Electronic Submission: Authors must include an electronic cover letter detailing the manuscript type (Research article, Review articles, Brief Reports, Case Study, etc.). Submission as Editorials or Letters to the editor is by invitation only, except in special cases.

  • Authorship Criteria: It is imperative that all listed authors meet the Journal of Medical Health Research and Psychiatry uniform authorship criteria.
  • Exclusivity Confirmation: Ensure that the submitted work is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Disclosure of Financial Support: Authors should disclose any financial support received for the work being reported or any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Title Page Requirements: The title page should include a descriptive title, full author details (affiliations, qualifications, contact information), and any necessary conflict of interest disclosures.
  • Corresponding Author Responsibilities: The corresponding author must provide comprehensive contact details on the manuscript's first page and address any post-publication conflicts of interest.
  • Document Preparation: Manuscripts should have sequentially numbered pages, including references, tables, and figure legends, with the title page as page 1.

Specific Article Types

Research Articles:

  1. Based on original research and contribute new knowledge.
  2. Should include a structured abstract with up to 10 keywords, organized into Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion sections.
  3. The manuscript should follow Introduction, Methodology, Result, Discussion, and References structure.

Review Articles:

  1. Provide insightful analysis on a specific subject using secondary data.
  2. Start with an abstract (300 words) and keywords.
  3. Include an introduction, detailed discussion with supportive data, and conclude with a summary. References are mandatory for statements and observations.

Commentaries:

  1. Short opinion pieces on specific developments or research findings relevant to the journal's scope.
  2. Comprise a title, abstract, problem statement, detailed analysis, and a concise conclusion. Illustrations or tables may support the analysis. References are required.

Case Study:

  1. Contributing additional research insights.
  2. Should follow a structured format, including Case and Methods, Discussion, and Conclusion sections.

Editorials:

  1. Short articles commenting on published issues or articles in the Journal of Medical Health Research and Psychiatry.
  2. Submission is typically by invitation and should be submitted within three weeks of invitation.

Clinical Images:

  1. Photographic depictions relevant to the field.
  2. Limited to 5 figures with a concise description (maximum 300 words). Minimal references allowed.

Letters to the Editor/Concise Communications:

  1. Comments on previously published articles, presenting concise reports or research findings.
  2. No formal article structure is required. They should be sent within six months of the concerned article’s publication.

References:

References should be cited in the text using numbers enclosed in square brackets and numbered sequentially as they appear in the paper. At the end of the text, list the references in consecutive order.

  • When listing authors, provide all names if there are seven or fewer; if there are more than four, list the first four followed by "et al."
  • Include article titles and inclusive pages.
  • Cite personal communications and unpublished data directly in the text by the first author without numbering them. Provide reference links for unpublished data.
  • Include the PubMed Unique Identifier (PMID) in square brackets for all references indexed in PubMed, along with URLs for the full text of the cited articles, where available.

Accuracy of reference data is the responsibility of the author.

Tables: Tables should be placed after the reference list. Each table must be cited in the text. Number tables consecutively with Arabic numerals in the order they are mentioned in the text. Provide titles for all tables, and avoid using internal vertical rules. Define any abbreviations used in a legend added to the table.

Figure Legends: Figure legends should be placed after the tables (if any) or the reference list. Provide a legend for each illustration, identified with Arabic numerals corresponding to the illustrations.

Artworks: Provide a brief caption for each figure. Figures should be placed in the manuscript after the corresponding caption. Each figure must be cited in the text. Number figures consecutively with Arabic numerals in the order they are mentioned in the text. Define any abbreviations used in the legend.

Rules for Preparation of Abstracts

  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • The title must not exceed 300 characters, including spaces. Avoid non-standard abbreviations in the title and use capitalization.
  • Authors' full names should have the first character capitalized, followed by the middle initial (uppercase) and the full last name (first character capitalized).
  • Indicate the name, town, and country of the institution(s) where the work was conducted.
  • Do not underline any word in the title, authors’ list, or institution.
  • Structure the abstract body as follows: Context, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions (for case reports: Context, Case Report, Conclusion). Section headers should be in bold font, followed by a space and the text of the section. Avoid sentences like “The results will be discussed...”.

Note: References should be cited in the content as numbers, e.g., [1], and listed in the order they are mentioned in the text.
